Policy Genius

Read structured policy reports, citations, exports, and access limits.

Policy Genius turns an active document into a structured policy report. Open it from the sidebar at /{your_org_name}/policy-genius, or from a document row action.

What Policy Genius Uses

Policy Genius needs an uploaded document with status Active and a supported policy type. Covara reads the structured extraction output and renders the matching report schema for that type.

No active document means no report

If a document is still queued or processing, wait until the Documents table shows Active before opening it in Policy Genius.

Review A Report

Open Policy Genius

Go to /{your_org_name}/policy-genius.

Select an active policy

Pick a document from the selector. Covara lists active policies for the current team account.

Review sections and fields

Read each section like a checklist. Empty values can be hidden or shown with the Show empty values switch.

Inspect citations

Citation indicators show where an extracted value came from in the source PDF. Use them when a value needs review.

Export or share

Use Actions to export PDF, export CSV, or prepare an email with the report.

Actions

PDF export creates a formatted report that your team can save or share. Branding and watermark behavior can depend on your plan.

CSV export creates rows for report sections, field names, and values. Use it when you need spreadsheet review or downstream analysis.

Send via Email opens an email draft with the report context. Attach the exported PDF if your email client does not add it automatically.

To ask questions about the policy, use the document row action Chat with Document or open AI Assistant and attach the policy.

Access Levels

Some plans can limit Policy Genius access by policy type, export settings, or team feature availability. If a report is blurred or unavailable, check the Billing page or ask the team owner to review the plan.

Re-upload if report data is invalid

If Covara says the report cannot be rendered because extracted data is missing or invalid, upload a fresh copy of the policy and wait for processing to finish.
